* I'm tired - like I could go to bed right now tired - and it's only 8PM. Why am I not OK with that? I need to be.
* This long holiday weekend was not at all what we had planned for family time. Sick baby girl. Sick mommy. Oh well.
* We got rid of cable this weekend. Gone. Just like that, back to 5 working channels and no recording options. Part of me loves the idea of simplifying, while part of me is unsettled as I go into detox mode. Want to know if something has an unhealthy influence in your life? Get rid of it. Uh, yea.
* We found out last week that we are going to have a ... BOY!!! While the official sonogram is next week, I am already trying to switch my mind from pink to blue. Could not be more excited.
* I think I'll officially name tomorrow as the start of this "new year", so that I can just start over. Family all healthy. Kate potty-trained. Feeling fully rested. Re-energized. Disciplined. Tomorrow.
* Don't try reading Kirkegaard at the gym while listening to work out music. Just doesn't flow.
* I have four really close friends all having babies in the next four months and one sister getting married!!!! Ahhh!!!! Excited about that and all that lies in store.
* Today I went to pick out new glasses. I always think - this is the year I'll get frames that are really fun and different. Then I ask opinions of the people working there and my husband and surprise! I get a similar but updated look. Oh well. It will be nice to have a current prescription again.
* Auntie Barbara has surgery on Wednesday to remove a tumor in her colon. I find myself in constant prayer for a quick recovery and that Christ would reveal Himself as the Healer and All-Sufficient One.
* As I have been focusing on scripture memory lately, I am amazed and a bit envious at how easily Kate memorizes and learns verses. She intrigues, challenges and impresses me in every way.
* I am so sad I missed a chance for a phone date with Shannon today, and am giddy about my phone date with Kimber tomorrow! These girls refresh my soul and make me smile...always.
* Sometimes I wonder if there is a way to live simply in Manhattan. Most books and people I talk to, leave the City to find simplicity, but I am constantly praying and thinking about ways to achieve that where God has called us to live today. I would argue that they are not mutually exclusive, but that God is still teaching me what that means for our family.
* Why didn't someone tell me that the movie, Fame, is one of the biggest disappointments in movie history? Ok, maybe I had unrealistic expectations.
* I keep asking myself if I should cut my hair or leave it long - go back to blonde or leave it natural. Am I just that ready for a change or is it that when you are pregnant there is not much you can do to feel updated and normal and so...a hair cut is a logical choice?
* Ok, I give up. I'm going to bed at 9PM and feeling excited about it.

I am so excited about your little BOY! Yeah! Also, I understand about the hair. I keep wanting to cut mine shorter, which is weird for me. I like yours natural :) Also, I really liked Fame - can we still be friends?
I love your thoughts. Thanks for sharing. I can't wait for our boys to be best friends :)
I also really love your hair natural, but blonde is lovely too.
Ok- looking forward to seeing you SOON!
so excited that you are having a boy - they are so much fun. yesterday at the zoo, hannah came up to me with all these pretty flowers (that's carol's daughter). then grant ran up and opened his fist - all these dandelions were all squished inside and he said 'these are for you, mommy'. it made me laugh to see the difference between girls and boys in that moment. as for simplicity - i relate and i live in such a slower place. i think i'm learning it starts in the heart - that's why its hard - then it naturally overflows to the external things.
Congrats on Baby Boy Sullivan! Woo hoo! :)
first, you know we LOVE boys around here! all we know. and we'll be praying for yours.
i like natural hair- though i do color mine to hide the grey. my color is more of my natural color though.
and i just went a bit shorter, but that's because all i know style wise with long hair is a pony tail. my hair really, really changed textures after griffin was born.
babies and weddings. how can life be any more wonderful. blessings to all of those you mentioned.
and sleep. take it whenever, whatever time you can.
